FAQ

  • How do I register my child?

You can register for classes, play days and events through our website. Simply choose your preferred class and date and fill out the registration form. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up early!

  • Will My Child Be a Good Fit?

Outdoor time year-round offers great benefits, but a drop-off nature school may not be right for every child. Consider whether your child can follow directions in a dynamic, outdoor setting and if you're prepared to dress them for all weather conditions.

If you're unsure, reach out with any questions—we're happy to offer guidance. We also provide a one-month trial period to help you determine if this program is a good fit for your child before committing to a full term.

  • What ages do you serve?

We welcome children birth to 12 years, with programs designed to meet the developmental needs of each age group.

Our classes are flexible, offering nature-based learning for both younger children and older kids.

We also have volunteer opportunities for life skills program for high school students.

  • Can I stay with my child?

We offer Caregiver & Me classes for children 0-5 years. For preschool and homeschool groups, we have a designated space for caregivers to relax, separate from the children's play area. If you'd like to volunteer or stay with your child during class, contact us for more details.

  • Do you offer sibling discounts?

Yes! We offer sibling discounts for families with more than one child enrolled.

    $15/1st child

    + $10/2nd child

    + $5/each additional child

  • Do you provide snacks or meals?

We offer a light snack and tea during some of our programs, but we ask that children bring their own lunch or snacks for family play days and longer sessions.

Ensure children bring their own water bottles to stay hydrated.

  • Do you cancel class for bad weather?

“There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.” - Nature School Mantra

At B2N, we believe the right clothing lets kids thrive in any weather, from rain to wind, and encourages exploration of every puddle. Safety is our top priority, so if weather conditions become hazardous (e.g., high winds, extreme cold, or lightning), we will follow local school district closures or cancel class if needed. Parents will be notified promptly if class is canceled.

  • What if my child is cold?

We ask all parents to dress their child in weather-appropriate clothing, which may include thermal layers, quality mid-layers, waterproof tops and bottoms, and snow gear.

Additionally, each student should bring an extra set of clothes, socks, and shoes, packed in a gallon-sized ziplock bag within their backpack. When dressed correctly, children will generate sufficient body heat to stay warm.

  • When does this program operate?

We operate year-round, with our preschool and homeschool programs running alongside the traditional school year except during heat waves.

Classes are divided into Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions. For the best results, we recommend that children attend the full school year. Additionally, we offer winter, spring and summer camp options.

  • What about safety & accidents?

The health and safety of the children is our top priority. Our staff is trained in First Aid and CPR, and each teacher has a phone and first aid kit on hand. We closely supervise all children and ensure a safe environment. In case of an accident, caregivers will be notified promptly, and a detailed report will be made.

Our program helps children practice real-life risk assessments, build motor skills, and develop body awareness, reducing injury risk and promoting long-term safety in outdoor environments.

  • What are the benefits of nature-based education?

Nature-based education fosters creativity, resilience, and problem-solving skills while allowing children to develop a deep connection to the natural world. By learning through hands-on exploration and unstructured play, children build self-confidence, social skills, and a lifelong love of learning.
